In 1994 he joined The Aga Khan University(AKU) as their first full time consultant plastic surgeon/Assistant Professor going on to become an Associate Professor in 2001. As a faculty member, he initiated the residency training programme in plastic surgery at AKU. Besides being the supervisor of this programme, he was, until recently, on the Faculty of Plastic Surgery at The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) and a member of the examining board of the CPSP.
After over 23 years at The Aga Khan University(AKU), Dr Tahir Shafi Khan has recently moved his practice to South City Hospital(SCH), Karachi’s other top hospital.
