Know your audience first by seeking them out on social media, or asking friends and family for recommendations. See if you can find a few people similar to your target customers online who could be useful as mentors or resources, who could offer insight into things like industry trends or certain questions you have about the landscape.
Identify their needs by doing some good old-fashioned research. Don't be afraid to ask questions! Take notes and make note of any gaps in knowledge you might have, information that is missing, etc. Then build your strategy around what it is exactly you want the users of the service will experience and give them results they need!
